It fits the way you already work.

ReStem 2 runs three ways, all on the same engine. In a DAW that supports ARA, it separates right on the timeline. As a plugin insert, it can separate live while your session plays. And the standalone app handles files on its own, with no DAW open at all.

ARA2 skips the bounce.

If your DAW supports ARA, ReStem can read the clip's audio through the DAW the moment you add the plugin. Just press the Process button, and after it finishes, the stems appear. ARA also lets you choose the sections of your track you want to process, saving you time.

Not every DAW has ARA. It's built into Cubase, Nuendo, Studio One, REAPER, Digital Performer, LUNA, and Waveform, and on Windows also Cakewalk Sonar, Samplitude, and Mixcraft. In any other DAW, including Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, FL Studio, and Bitwig, ReStem 2 runs as a regular insert instead.

Or run it like any other insert.

Pick the live mode and the separated kit plays in real time (Pro version only). The plugin reports its delay to your DAW, so the DAW lines everything back up for you automatically.

The standalone app

Load a file or drag one in, let it process, then export the stems, plus a MIDI file if you're on Pro. It's the quickest way to prep material before a session, or to hand a client separated stems without opening a project at all.

Formats and platforms

macOS

AU, VST3, VST, AAX, and the standalone app. It runs natively on Apple Silicon and uses the Metal GPU on current versions of macOS. There's also a separate build tuned for Intel Macs. Requires macOS 11 or later.

Windows

VST3, VST, AAX, and the standalone app, on 64-bit Windows. It uses the GPU on NVIDIA RTX 20 and GTX 16 series cards and newer, and renders on the CPU on any other machine.

ReStem 2 installs next to ReStem 1, with its own plugin identity, settings, and folders, so your existing sessions keep opening exactly as they were.
